Internship Program

Build Your Career at Home.
Cybersecurity, Made in Cagayan de Oro.

Talent from Cagayan de Oro should not have to leave home to build a career in technology. CyTech brings that career to CDO, and the internship program is where it starts.

Why We Are Here

Talent Should Not
Have to Leave Home.

Metro Cagayan de Oro is home to about 1.7 million people and is emerging as the country's fourth metropolitan area; Mindanao is home to more than 27 million. Yet for years, its IT graduates had to leave for Manila, Cebu or abroad to find the work they studied for. CyTech is not a large company, but we are here to change that: real careers in cybersecurity, built in CDO, so talent can stay home, where life matters most.

May Heffer, VP Global Operations, CyTech
I studied computer science at Xavier University, here in Cagayan de Oro. When I graduated in 1999, there were no IT jobs at home. I left for Cebu, then Manila, and later Singapore. I left my six-month-old daughter behind to pursue my opportunity in Singapore. If a company like CyTech had been in Cagayan de Oro back then, I would never have had to leave. No young person in CDO should have to make that choice to build a career. That is why we are here.

Twenty to Twenty-Five Interns
in Every Batch.

Interns join in batches throughout the year. Seats are filling quickly, and we welcome early applications from schools and students.

For Schools

Interns come recommended by the OJT coordinator of a partner school, under a signed MOA. Placement follows the coordinator's direction and the tracks CyTech has open in that cohort.

Our partner schools include the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) and PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College.

Questions Students Ask

Is there a minimum grade to apply?

No grade cutoff is used, because grading scales differ from school to school. Your school's OJT coordinator recommends you, and that recommendation is what counts.

My school is not a partner yet. What can I do?

Ask your OJT coordinator to contact us. CyTech signs an MOA with the school, and its students can then be recommended for the program.

How does my OJT coordinator reach CyTech?

By email, at career@cytechint.com.

What does my OJT coordinator need to send?

A letter recommending you for the program, your school's OJT requirements, such as the hours you need, and the MOA with CyTech if your school does not have one yet.

When can I start?

With the next batch. Your OJT coordinator confirms your batch with us.

Is the internship paid?

No. The internship does not include an allowance.

Will I receive a certificate for my OJT?

Yes. Every intern who completes the program receives a CyTech certificate of completion.

What comes after my OJT?

Once you graduate, you can apply to the CyTech Graduate Program, which starts in the Cyber Fusion Center with structured training through the CyTech Cyber Academy. Outstanding interns may be considered for positions at CyTech.

Can CyTech give me a reference when I apply for jobs?

Yes. Interns who complete the program can ask their mentor for a reference.
